Event Support & Safety Services Consulting : Training : Safety & Support Ground Service Merseyventure have been staging Adventure and Mountain Challenges since 2000, from simple urban orienteering through to complex multi activity events over numerous locations. Such events may require VHF radio communications, command and control centre, remote staffed checkpoints, feeding stations, toilets, transport relay for competitors, participants or event staff, qualified mountain staff and first aiders, marshals and volunteers, start and finish areas, and electronic event timing systems. We provide all of the above safety and support during our own Adventure & Mountain Challenge events, and are able to offer these services, along with event consulting and events management, to groups, charities or companies wishing to organise their own event. Services Available. Some groups may wish to simply receive some advice regarding event planning and management, risk assessments and insurance. Event Consulting is available for a half-day or full day, or on a continuous basis as your event plans develop, as and when requested. Other groups may wish Merseyventure to provide a full bespoke event for them including all transport, accommodation and food. Three Peaks Challenge - Scafell Pike Support Organisers planning a national Three Peaks Challenge should be aware of the environmental sensitivities when your event teams arrive at either Wasdale or Seathwaite to climb Scafell Pike. Local residents, the National Trust and the National Parks Authority have deep concerns about the lack of provision by organisers for teams arriving in these locations, and a very negative press may follow - especially for those teams and events which may cause more problems than normal due to poor planning or event control. Many groups don't realise how limited facilities are at both locations. Merseyventure can offer a Support & Welfare Vehicle for your event, which offers two self-contained toilets with wash facilities, hot and cold water, microwave oven, 240v supply, rest area & storm awning. Merseyventure can also supply a full safety management team with the Support & Welfare Vehicle including VHF Radio Comms to the summit, 2x support staff at the vehicle controlling the checkpoint, marshaling car parking, placing event signage, briefing teams, recharging radio batteries, and offering basic first aid provision. 3x MTLE qualified mountain guides would be in-situ at various key locations between the base and summit, offering safety checkpoints for walkers to pass through, and all equiped with first aid, mountain safety items, and VHF radios. Another option is using the Support & Welfare Vehicle as a feeding & rehydration checkpoint. We can provide 2x staff serving hot and cold drinks, hot soup and rolls, or bacon butties, all with some sheltered seating available. Staff will ensure the area is completely litter-free after the event. |
