Who Enters Coleman Open Challenge Series Events?

Corporate teams, charity teams, groups of work colleagues or sports and social club teams, groups of friends, family members, pairs, couples, and individuals all enter our Open Challenges each year. Some use the events for fundraising and publicity purposes to help their local charity or other good cause, some use the events to help with management or staff team building, some just need a challenge to help them get fit,
and others just want to try themselves against a good challenge.

How Fit Do I Need To Be?

To enter any of our challenges, you will need at least a good, basic level of fitness. This means you can sustain some gentle exercise for around 30 minutes without becoming overly breathless. The fitter you are, the easier the challenge will be, but you will need lots of endurance, stamina and determination for all events.

" Just a quick note to say thank you very much for the Three Peaks Challenge we have just competed. The whole event was excellently organised and all members of the Mountain Teams were very helpful and at no point did we feel completely on our own, although up Scafel at 3 in the morning we did begin to wonder!! "

" Everybody wants to do it again which is a worry as I still have to walk backwards down stairs because of sore shins, but u're right the aches will wear off and hopefully we can start planning the next one! "

If you can find a few like minded friends, why not challenge
yourself in 2008?

Three Peaks Challenge - This challenge is to consecutively climb, and travel between, the highest mountains of Scotland, England, and Wales. These are Ben Nevis (1344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m). Most people aim to complete this within a 24 hour period, although many underestimate the true scale of this challenge, and finish outside of this time. MORE >>>

Adventure Challenge - The challenge involves mountain biking, canoeing, trekking or running, and some night navigation. Most activities are based on an orienteering time & points format and you are free to cover as much or as little distance as you are comfortable with, within a set time. MORE >>>

14 Peaks Challenge - The toughest of all our challenges, aka the Welsh 3000's. A continuous attempt, or an attempt with a halfway overnight stop, to summit all of the Welsh peaks over 3000 feet. Whichever you choose, you will need to walk over 50kms and climb over 3500 metres. Only for the fittest! MORE >>>

Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge - 24 miles of walking in 12 hours to ascend Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales. Start and finish at Horton-In-Ribblesdale. A less strenuous challenge but a great introduction for people or groups attempting their first challenge event. MORE >>>
